Welcome To New Kenanga Hill

Dear Kenanga Hill Residents,

Let’s celebrate the 2014 New Year with the new and improved image of Kenanga Hill’s Community Security System. The committee of Kenanga Hill has worked relentlessly to bring back the glorious of best neighbourhood to live in. Kenanga Hill is as best as the other community in Bandar Sri Damansara. In fact, we should proudly say we are not inferior in term of image, better security system, residents have faith in the voluntary work or whatever positive strength that our community think that we should have.

Let’s present to you our new improved image of Kenanga Hill Community Security System. Firstly, we have new manually operated electrical barrier gate at both SD9/5A and SD9/5J entrances. Community feels more pleasant with the higher standard of security system. The Security guards are feeling more confidence that they are manning a good system and of course putting their best interest to uphold the system. They are briefed if they are not good and our community support will decline and hence affect their pay too.

We have opened up the previously closed lane and created visitor as well as resident lanes. It has greatly reduce the congestion and more convenient for access. Most importantly, a lot of new security features are put in place. When a visitor drives in, security guard will ask for driving license and driver will definitely wind down their window and their face will be captured by our camera. Driving license will be scanned and captured in our system in less than 3 seconds and returned back to the owner. Car number plate is captured too. Guards will only need to ask the house and street details to be recorded in their book. All processes are not taking too long and efficiently manage our security system.

We do need to thank our community too as this new 2014 security system is not only the efforts from the committee but we do have a lot more residents contribute their respective expertise in helping to get this new image done.

First of all, a group of residents went for the gotong-royong to refresh our guard house at both entrances. In their believes, this transformation is needed so that our Kenanga Security is the strongest and to be loved by all residents. Without them, we might need to spend about RM2,000 for this transformation and now we save those monies.

The committee is also taking the opportunity to turn a waste signage that content negative words into something nice that represent our Kenanga Hill identity. It involves a small spending of RM100 to transform the two signage.

We need to take this opportunity to thank one of the uncle staying at 5F who provide a positive feedback to remove the negative words “Not live on other charity”. We took the action to remove it and believe in bringing in positive and harmony living environment. This uncle is wealthy (knowledge as well as net worth) and intelligent engineerer which we think he will join us after seeing what we have done.

Our community has also put in their efforts to improve the newly installed security system. The volunteers helped to clean up the plants at 5J guard house which blocking the camera.

They also help to install the light post at both entrances so that our camera will capture more clearly on the situation and enhance the security system. They really put in their hard works to dig the hole and lay the foundation for the post during their precious holiday. We have Mr Foo from 5C to help on wiring and other hard works for free. We also have Mr Zhang who own a engineering company which manufacture car parts to source for the post, the nuts, LED lighting, fabricate the stands with high precision. Respect and thankful for the help despite their ages.

The light posts are up at both entrances as well as some plug point and switches to control it.

Lastly, best wishes to Kenanga Hill to continue to gain supports and maintain the best neighbourhood to love and live in. With that in mind, our new car sticker is designed to help to bring us there.

Happy 2014 and God Bless.

New Security System Progress Update

Here is the message from our leader Mr Wong Kim Leong:

Dear KS Residents,

I wish to update you on the above. Thanks to the generous contribution of most residents, we have to date collected around RM19K, unfortunately still fall short of RM30K target. In view of the funding issue which is in progress and pending MPPJ approval on the use of access-control system, we planned the new improved system in the following stages.

•First phase: To install "manually operated" motorised boom gates at K2 entrance(near shop lots) by mid November. Residents with valid sticker will enter zone via dedicated lane(nearest to guard post) whereas visitors or residents without valid stickers will have to go through "visitor lane" for security checks before allow entry. Two cameras will be positioned to capture images of driver & front number plate respectively. Another special camera will be installed for scanning driver's IC or driving licence before allow entry with a visitor pass.

Second phase: To install same "manually operated system" at K1 entrance(near the play ground) by mid December or sooner depending on fund collections.

Third phase: Upgrade both K1 & K2 resident lanes to "Wave & Go" system as soon as the approval from MPPJ is granted and funding is sufficient.

By the way, Please save the new emergency security number, 010-2415828 now in "speed dial" setting.

Thanks

Refresh Effort to Revive the Kenanga Security System... Look Really Real!

Without much of us realized that the last effort to upgrade the Kenanga Security System was about a year ago. No exact reason can explain the situation of long delay. It is likely that voluntary job can not get anyone interested.

However, the team lead by Mr Wong KL is definitely going strongly and seriously to bring it up again. Much of the thought has been put up on how to draft the message to residents. It explains how expenses are being spent in a very detailed and transparent mathematic calculation. Unfortunately, people has lost a bit of faith and only few people running around for collection or no response for renewal notice. Hence, the collection is coming off. If outstanding amount can be collected, it will back to normal.

It further explains the need to have CCTV and motorized barrier and its estimated cost. It is likely further convince the residents that Kenanga Security System is on par if not better than neighboring zone security system.

They are committed to deliver, what about you?

Dear KS residents,

Re: PLEASE HELP IN MAKING OUR SECTOR SAFER

Our Kenanga 9/5 Hill is rapidly improving in terms of security and safety. The security committee is working relentlessly to make it even better with the following measures before giving it up to do the unthinkable, close the system entirely and open ourselves to security risks.

1. To install CCTV(RM6,000) & “Waive & Go” access systems (RM24,000) so that paying residents enjoy entry convenience and our guards can concentrate to do more rigorous security check on visitors.
2. To recruit more street leaders in order to get feedbacks from residents and formulate strong Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for our systems.

3. To enforce SOPs with your feedbacks and good practices learned from neighboring zones.

For your information, our current “3 guards for day & 2 for night" security system needs RM10,000 monthly and the collection trends above clearly showed our current "crisis" situation.

Besides stable collection quarterly, we urgently need additional funds and so far, we received around RM10,000 from our caring residents and corporate donors. To top up the difference, we need an additional RM200 from every contributing member in order to make item#1 a reality.

Your contribution to this initiative will certainly make our area a safer place to live in for you & your loved ones. This will not only boost the safety, security, beauty but will also escalate the property price. The property price escalation in our area is obviously due to the effective security system that we have put in place so far. We will visit you soon (6.30pm) to collect funds, recruit new representatives, update contact information and more importantly listen to your feedbacks.

Please come forward and contribute to the security fund. Your cheque can be made payable to: PERSATUAN PENDUDUK BANDAR SRI DAMANSARA(KS)
